LONDON, Armor, Terre-Nuevas, Gabier ... these are a few of the many names for a legendary blade that is known from the coasts of Brittany, Normandie to the North and on the Baltic Seas, where it is often called Anchor Blade in reference to motif often found on it's handle.
Maritime knives are, like seafaring, a world of their own. What is needed in this harsh environment is a faithful and solid companion. Characteristics of this style are usually a wide blade with downwards pointing tip, as well as a handle, which is fits perfectly in the hand. The knife design developed for use cutting ropes and rigging, for repairs to the wood of the ship and the sails.
This example is produced with a black horn handle and brass inlayed anchor.
