Stetson was founded in New Jersey USA, by John Batterson Stetson in 1830. The Stetson story started out years earlier however, under JB's father, as 'The No Name Hat Company'. They specialised in superior hats and it's said that they even made hats for George Washington. Their position as the most revered American hat brand has been unrivalled since 1886.

Stetson now partners with the Friedrich W. Schneider Hat Company of Germany, a company founded in 1913, to manufacture and distribute many of its hats and caps using the finest materials such as raw silk, linen and virgin wool.
