SUN SURF Lot No. SS02741 / HAWAIIAN WORK TOTE BAG
Sun Surf
Arranged two types of bags: a tote bag used by railroaders in Hawaii at the time to store their operation records, and a messenger-type bag that was used diagonally to carry tools. A thick canvas material is used to withstand heavy loads, and the inside is coated to improve it so that it can be used for a variety of purposes.
After the Japanese immigrants came to Hawaii, the sugar cane plantation was the first place to work. A railroad has been laid there since ancient times, and it has been used as a means of transporting the harvested sugar cane to the sugar factory and as a means of transportation that connects their living base and the farm. Sunsurf focused on a railroad company that existed in the past called "Hilo Railroad Company" while unraveling the history of Hawaiian workwear. Based on the materials of the time, the unique specifications are reproduced.
