The Elephant Ear satchel is cut from a single piece of heavy wool bound around the edges with ecru cotton and folded up, with an ear at each side, riveted through to the back with a brass eyelet.

An inner cotton bag is fastened into the open edge of this cradle, which supports and protects the bag, while leaving it open to expand from the sides, and allowing the cradle to also hold a folded coat, umbrella, or newspaper.
