Created  by squeezing cotton hemp gauze, the navy for the charcoal grey is ink, and the olive for khaki is myrobalan. The British army stationed in India dyed their uniforms, which were originally white, to the colour of Indian soil. Myrobalan, a vegetable dye, was used for dyeing.
