TENDER RIB CALF COTTON SOCKS - TAN WATTLE
TENDER RIB CALF COTTON SOCKS - TAN WATTLE
Tender’s rib cotton socks are knitted and hand linked in England from raw unbleached cotton, with nylon for durability, then dyed with natural dyes.
Acacia wood, also known as wattle, mimosa, or cutchwood, is a thorny tree native to Australia, India, and China, and has been usedfor thousands of years to tan leather and dye fabrics. When British settlers arrived in Australia in the mid 19th Century they built shelters using the ancient ‘wattle and daub’ method of weaving together twigs and plastering them with mud. Because acacia was plentiful and its thin twigs were flexible, the trees were named ‘wattle’ trees.
Tender’s socks are made with a loop-back, or terry, double knit sole. This makes them especially comfortable, and appropriate to wear with lighter shoes or even heavy boots.
